I've survived---so far

Can you believe this!! First they dig all the dirt from around my
roots, and then steel I beams were driven in the ground all around
me--like I am going to escape. A solid wall was built between
the I beams, rebar was then installed and now--can you believe
it--concrete is being poured all aronund me. I think those are
little ants crawling around on the wall.

It certainly is impressive the things they are doing
in here. I guess some day cars will be parked
in this hole. But I am glad when the day ends and
they go home. Then, maybe I can get some rest.

Activities, Activities, Activities

This lady is in charge of all the activities for independent living residents.
She is very busy and keeps everyone else busy if they want to keep
active. She is responsible for publishing the Athertonian--our weekly
news letter. She plans trips, overnight trips, day trips, and the "out to
lunch bunch" trip. Other activities are too numerous to mention. She is
much appreciated.

Receptionist

Every place needs a receptionist and we have the best. Here
are two of them but others work shifts and weekends. They
do more than answer the phone. They greet visitors, direct phone
calls, take dining room reservations, cash checks, answer questions,
dole out stamps for letters and many, many other things.
Way to go ladies.

Therapy

According to the information around town, the therapy
crew at Atherton is one of the best.

Hope you don't need it but if you do--try it out

Don't sink the "eight" ball.

It's obvious this is a game of concentration, a steady
hand and a good eye.  A lot of fun is had when it comes
time for a pool tournament. There were only eight
entries this year. There are no losers, just non-
winners.
This is just part of the group of cheerers and
hecklers. That's what made it fun. Two women
and two men reached the finals.
The Winners were Norma, Don, Bob and Polly.
Hope to see you next year.
